OUR
BEDTIME
STORY

Illustrator and designer Dana Van Etten
was presented with the poem Lullaby by Tuvia Rivner.
Influenced by the curves and connections of the
Middle Eastern typography, the logo was developed.

Carrying forward Rivner’s themes of calming
fears, sleep, and lush forest imagery a series of
drawings
were created. These images were eventually
developed into the brandingmaterials for Hush.

LULLABY
TUVIA RIVNER

THE NOCTURNAL,  MY PANTHER,
HAS EYES THAT SPARK,
HIS TEETH FLASH
IN THE DARK, IN DARK,
 HIS CLAW IS SHARP
 AS THE RAZOR BLADE,
SLEEP,MY CHILD IN
THE FOREST GLADE!

IF YOU SLEEP AND NAP,
MY GOD’S PITY PREVAILS,

AND YOU SHALL NOT
SEE MOTHER DRAW IN A PAIL
THE BLUE EYES OF THE LIGHT
TO WATER THE CREATOR
OF THE NIGHT.

CLOSE YOUR EYELIDS,
SLEEP AS YOU ARE,
IN THE SKY HANGS
A MERCIFUL STAR,
ON MOTHER’S FOREHEAD
A STAR AGAIN, MY PANTHER
IS LURKING INVAIN AT NIGHT,
AT NIGHT IN THE FOREST
GLADE,IN DREAM AT YOUR
THROAT LIKE A
RAZOR BLADE.
